General Rules: (Regional & National Races)

1. All competitors (racers) entering these races, agree to abide by these rules.
2. The rules are designed to enhance competition, provide an “even playing field”, and most important, create an atmosphere of fun, excitement and enjoyment for both racers & spectators.
3. The US National race to select Team USA members is open to all citizens and permanent residents of the USA, 18 years and older, able to ensure the ability to travel to England for the NINCO World Cup. Exceptions will be made for a limited number of Canadian racers who wish to race for Team USA selection. Canadian’s who win a place on the Team, will race as a member of Team USA, representing MRC and the USA.
4. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of the NINCO regional races will be guaranteed a racing slot if they choose to attend the National race at JD Model Raceway. This does not include transportation, accommodation, the entry fee or any other cost of attending the race. They will be required to pre-register and send a deposit.
5. Regional race 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will not be allowed to race in other regional events.
6. A moderate entry fee will be charged at each race location, determined by the local race organizer.
7. Endurance race lengths and lane positions will be determined by the local race organizer.
8. Allowed cars are any NINCO angle winder car.
9. Completed cars constructed using NINCO Lexan chassis’, and Lightweight Body Kits can be used, providing all the general rules are followed.
10. All cars must race with no magnets; must have the NINCO NC-5 or 6 “Speeder” motor and any rear tire made for the car.

12. Track Marshals - Participating drivers may be asked to carry out “Track Marshalling” functions. Track Marshals are required to place cars back in their appropriate lane after an accident, and remove objects from the track that might interfere with normal racing. The Marshal is required to warn drivers as appropriate about accidents in his sector of the track. Cars that deslot/involved in an accident shall then be removed by the Marshals as quickly as possible so they don’t obstruct the other drivers. Marshals shall attempt to replace cars in their proper lane with the vehicle that caused the accident being the last one replaced. Vehicles that have had an accident shall be replaced on the first straight run following the accident site, a minimum distance of approximately 1 foot from the last curve.
13. Cars can be raced stock or modified. Only NINCO parts made for that series car can be used on that car. The exception being braids, wires, body mount screws & tires can be used from other manufacturers. NINCO Stock, Prorace or Prorace Evo parts can be used.
14. Racers can bring their own cars (see rule 8) & NINCO components, or purchase cars & components trackside
15. All participating racecars will be inspected to insure rule compliance prior to the start of the race. A few (determined by the race organizer) test laps will be allowed prior to final inspection.
16. Competitor’s cars will be impounded by the race organizer after inspection. At race time, the track marshals will set the cars in their appropriate lanes. Except for maintenance during “green” periods, the racer will not have access to his car until his racing is complete. (see rule 17) The race organizer is free to check any participating car during the race (between rounds) and at its conclusion.
17. Cleaning braids in between rounds can be done if observed by a track official.
18. Painting the outside (and only the outside) of the car body is allowed. Windows must not be painted. Decals can be applied to Body Kit shells.
19. The body (whether a named model from Rule 8 (above) or a “white” Body Kit, must be the completed car body as manufactured by NINCO: no lightening, strengthening, modifying, trimming or adding weight. The rear wing, mirrors, grills, windows, windshield wipers and all interior parts (cockpit, driver, floor pan, etc) must be in place as issued by NINCO. The rear wing must be clean and can be glued to the body. The wing angle cannot be changed as a means of attempting to affect the down-force applied to the car. If the wing breaks during the race, it must be replaced by gluing, or it can be fixed to the body using adhesive tape so long as it does not damage vehicle aesthetics or cause a change in the angle and the amount of down-force the wing provides.
20. The chassis must be strictly the chassis for that car series.
21. No modification to any part of the chassis is allowed. However, you may replace chassis screws that hold the body to the chassis with NINCO Prorace/Evo or any other type found within the slot car market so they may be loosened/adjusted to allow the body to rock/float over the chassis.
22. NINCO’s Lexan chassis’ can be used with any applicable listed cars (in Rule 8).
23. For a standard chassis, the motor cannot be "glued" in a manner that adds strength or minimizes flex of the chassis... (i.e. running a bead of hot glue down the entire sides of the motor that effectively make the motor a part of the chassis). A minimal application (single piece) of tape may be used to secure the motor.
24. If the Lexan chassis is used, the motor must be secured with the single motor mount screw provided with the chassis. In addition, a (minimal size) single piece of tape can be applied.
25. All body parts, wings, mirrors, windows etc., must be in place at the race start.
26. Tires may be sanded/profiled.
27. No magnets allowed
28. Tires can be glued to the hubs (wheels)
29. Prorace/Evo wheels may include hubcaps & discs
30. The assembled front NINCO axle length may be altered by shortening to reduce side-to side play.
31. The assembled rear NINCO axle with wheels & tires must not hang over the side of the body.
32. Stock, Prorace or Prorace Evo hubs (wheels) of standard NINCO 2.48mm axle size, of 15”, 17”, or 18” narrow or wide, and any size NINCO Shore A25 (except F-1) tires can be used on any (rule 8) car, providing wheel/tire sizes are not mixed on each axle.
33. Wires & braids can be used from any 1/32-scale slot car manufacturer.
34. Slot Guide Flag no mods.
35. Bushings that are original equipment or the appropriate NINCO Prorace/Evo ball bearings can be used on the rear axle. A minimal amount of glue (that does not strengthen the chassis/axle supports) may be used to fasten the bearings.
36. Pinions and Crown (Spur)Gears - Free choice of NINCO gears, (stock, Prorace, Prorace EVO) may be used, but must be in line with NINCO’s specifications. In no case may a pinion be used where the gear requires modification. The spur gear cannot be modified in any way that will change the “natural wear” of the gear.
37. Once the race starts, a competitor can only “pit” his car, during actual racing or "green" periods. “Pit” means: cleaning braids, changing tires, replacing a wheel or tire that came off the car, or putting the car back to running order after a crash that immobilizes the car. Track marshals will get the car for the racer and replace the car on the track at the location where the car was removed. The rear wing must be on the car at all times and be repaired and replaced. The racer will lose time and laps taken during these maintenance (Pit) periods.
38. Gear and tire size changes during “green periods” are not allowed.
39. You may add lead as needed
40. Any vehicle modification or manipulation of vehicle parts in an attempt to circumvent the spirit of the rules set out in the present regulation is totally prohibited. If discovered by track officials, the vehicle and racer will be disqualified from the Regional race, and from entering or racing in the National race.
41. The voltage on the racetrack must be between 12 VDC.
42. The race organizer at each regional location will make the final decision concerning any rule infraction or discussion at his location during race day.
43. As overall NINCO race organizer in the USA, MRC retains the right to add, change, remove or amend any rule, or other information presented in this document, or any document pertaining to these race events.
