ROAD TRIP to Philadelphia for the National SCX RACE. The race is on Saturday 14 November 2009 at a hobby shop with a Carrera track. The shape is somewhat like Jims in Plainfield, but with a bank. Bring your own gator clip controller.

Jeff, Don, Larry are the top three placers at the Montomery qualifier. Other racers from that race COULD go if any of these three cannot or does not want to go. Others could atternd if we have another qualifier like we did last year.

Mapquest said a little over 800 miles to drive and I got a map and motel list nearby. A midpoint pitstop in Cleveland might be good.

Thank you to all of the Club members who attended. Three Red shirts are eligible to race in Philly at the Nats.

SCX Worldwide has announsed a 2009 Regional race at Mid-America Raceway in Montomery, ILL on the 150 ft Gerding flat track.
THURSDAY PRACTICE open 1pm everyday
FRIDAY nite May 15 is COT NASCAR. STOCK may add lead and tires.
Saturday nite May 16: GT Challenge. ALL current GT cars like we use - BUT:

MODS include SCX PRO parts (wheels, axles, gears, any tire. LEAD may be added BUT no lead may be mounted under the car or be lower than any plastic part of the car. POD must match chassis used and MAY be GLUED...may be taped to limit movement. MOTOR limited to 42B only, any pinion. National final will be in Pennsylvania and use handout motors with stock 9 tooth pinion. Pro Flag installation in std cars is not addressed in the rules.
Front tires MAY NOT be coated and limited to 16.5mm minimum diameter..STOCK FRONT WHEELS.

Initial testing showed stock gearing not so bad. Braids need to be splayed to sides to ensure pickup is consistent (had braking problems at first)

This event IS A CONFLICT with our Ninco club track challenge......?

Hey Frank, I just looked at the calendar, and it says this race starts at 6:00a.m.? I love ya man, but I don't think I can make it to Shorewood at 6 a.m. on a Saturday. Any thoughts as to what time you'd like to start?
