Ok the cracked hub fix, I found this most on FLY wheels, but this will work for any wheel with a hub.

First cut a piece of .030 plastic a bit bigger than the I.D of the rim itself, you can cut the corners off to help with the trueing.

Next use an exacto knife or reamer to make a small hole in the center of the piece, try to get as close to center as you can, the hole should be small enough for the screw on a cutoff wheel adapter to fit snug.

Next install the plastic on the dremel as shown.

I use a file to true the plastic down to the exact I.D of the rim, for this I used a dial caliper. (you can make the piece a bit smaller than the exact I.D of the rim, the critical area will be the center hole)

After you have the piece trued down to the size you can remove it from the dremel tool.

Now use an exacto knife or reamer to enlarge the the small hole, (a reamer works best for this) make the hole just a bit smaller than the hub on the wheel, ream a bit at a time and then test fit, you want the piece to snap on over the hub (not fit loose) the tighter the fit the better, this will squeeze the hub and close the gap in the crack.

The piece shown is ready to be installed for the final time, clean any burrs, snap the piece into place, at this time you can install the wheel on the car to check everything out, the wheel should fit snug and if your lucky you wont need any glue, now remove the wheel and use thin C.A around the hub so it wicks in the crack and around the plastic piece, if you made the piece a bit small than the exact I.D of the rim use a med C.A to fill the gap and bond the piece to the rim itself, if the piece was an exact fit you can use the thin C.A here as well.

This is the completed rim, this will work for a crack or even when the hub splits in two. One thing I would like to add is that I dont feel anyone should do a quick repair at the track, we have all done this where the wheel breaks and we are quick to glue it and get it back out there, the truth is you have lost the race so whats the hurry, and pouring glue down the hub will ony make the repair that much harder if not ruin the wheel, besides there is always somebody who is quick to offer a car to use, so I say wreck theirs, it will make you feel better about yours:D. I hope this helps, I have a few cars that have been running with this fix for some time now.
